About the project
The House at Kurkowa street project is located in Nadodrze, in the very centre of Wrocław. The Odrzańskie Suburbs is a dynamically developing part of the city which has become an enclave for young, enterprising and creative people. It is a fashionable place with excellent infrastructure, cafes, restaurants and galleries as well as art, fashion and design studios.
Architecture
Nadodrze in Wrocław is characterized by a compact arrangement of historical tenement houses – comprehensively revitalized in recent years. With its structure, form and height, the House at Kurkowa street refers to these buildings and its elevation is maintained in subdued traditional colours. Quartz tiles laid in the manner of bricks are used in the lower storeys and in the spaces between windows. The architects also looked after the details of the House at Kurkowa street, such as the steel access gate, entrance and galvanized partition walls of the balconies which are characterized by a stylized openwork ornament.
